Sangoma Loses Bones And Charms To Galinya After Refusing To Pay For Sombonyo

There was drama when a self-professed sangoma found himself in a pickle after he lost all his bones, charms, and healing paraphernalia to a thigh vendor who accused him of refusing to pay for services rendered.

According to B-Metro, the youthful traditional healer who has been identified as Hlongwane wanted to take a break from all the hard work that he was doing by having some feminine companionship last week.

He is said to have gone to a local business center where he hired one of the ladies who rent out their charms. Hlongwane and the thigh vendor negotiated and agreed that US$10 for a mid-afternoon session was reasonable.

However, when the two were done, the thigh vendor demanded an additional US$5 saying that she had gone above and beyond what the two had agreed. This did not go down well with Hlongwane who insisted that he would only pay the US$10 they had agreed on. A source who witnessed the drama narrated the events that ensued to the publication as follows:

“All hell broke loose after the sangoma refused to pay the $15 he had been charged. He was initially charged US$10 for a quickie but after sex the prostitute refused to take the money and informed him that the price had gone up because she had also offered him oral sex.

“His refusal, however, prompted the prostitute to grab his bag containing his bones and other charms.

“The prostitute later called her colleagues who came and mobbed the sangoma while accusing him of being ungrateful.”

The matter was only resolved when the traditional healer finally capitulated to the demands of the thigh vendors by paying out the full US$15.

However, Hlongwane was aggrieved by the way that he had been treated and by how his traditional paraphernalia had been desecrated, and he threatened to use his charms to fix all those who had tormented him.

“He felt hopeless, violated and deprived and he threatened to curse the prostitute’s privates,” the source said.
