Zanu PF Linked To Running Mashurugwi

The ruining party Zanupf is the one running the notorious gang of illegal gold miners populary known as Mashurungwi. Evidence gathered by Dangwe News shows the group operates at impunity making them untouchables. The gang is being protected by top Zanupf members in the region with Owen Ncube said to be the leader. Furthermore the Mashurungwi gang is on mission to take over all gold mining activities in the country in order to ensure only ZanuPf leaders benefit from the mineral

One illegal gold miner based in Chakari Mashonaland West expressed his fears. ‘We are now all mining gold for Owen Ncube and his boys here mamwe mabuyers hava chadi kutsika kuno tese tonzi ore yose endai munotengesera nhingi kunge twana tudiki (most independent buyers no longer want to come here as they fear Mashurungwi a situation which makes us sell all our gold to one buyer at low prices)’. The gangs virtually control all activities at mines with all those selling food having to be vetted and given necessary permission to trade with small fees being charged.

In the Muzvezve area of Mashonaland West Zanupf Secretary for Transport Philemon Ndushu runs four mines in the area while Good Hope owner is Kenneth Mashingaidze. It is Good Hope mine where one Police Officer was killed last month after they were called in to provide security on the mine claim. It is not known why ZRP had to provide security for a private property and in this case a mining operation by known Zanupf gangs.

The situation is likely to get of hand as the gang’s influence continues to grow by the minute. Most Kadoma residents fear the whole town will be run by the Zanupf thugs if police fail to act soon. The poor in the area are also being threatened with eviction from the town should they not house the illegal miners. The landlords are afraid of letting their rooms to the miners for fear of failing to get rent dues as they are known for violence conduct a situation that has forced most to live in Shacks.
