Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) National Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, (ZRP) National Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the investigation has also recorded allegations of rape and attempted murder, with inquiries ongoing into whether Zvitsva had accomplices and whether some
victims’ body parts were removed.
“We can confirm that two more victims have been discovered in connection with Zvitsva’s murder spree, bringing the total number of alleged victims to 25. As a result, he is now facing charges related to the alleged killing of 25 people. Investigators have also recorded additional allegations of rape and attempted murder. Furthermore, investigations are underway into allegations that Zvitsva may have been assisted by other individuals and that some people were allegedly given body parts,” he said.
Zvitsva was arrested on January 3 in Guruve and initially appeared in court from Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals on January 5. During his latest appearance at Harare Magistrates Court, the State requested more time to consolidate the separate dockets linked to his alleged crimes.
Court proceedings also revealed that some victims’ remains were found with body parts missing, highlighting the severity of the alleged offences.
