A bus carrying FC Platinum supporters was involved in a road accident just 25 kilometres from Chiredzi.
The collision occurred when the bus reportedly crashed head-on with a Toyota Hilux. The driver of the Hilux tragically died on the spot.
The bus was reportedly on its way back from the team’s away fixture against GreenFuel in Chisumbanje.

According to The Herald, there were no fatalities among the FC Platinum supporters aboard the bus; however, several fans sustained injuries.
Details surrounding the severity of the injuries remain unclear, but sources confirmed that some of the injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.

The accident has added to the growing sense of grief within the FC Platinum football community. The club is still mourning the death of midfielder Brian Banda, who tragically lost his life late last month in a separate road accident near Filabusi.
Banda was a passenger in a Proton Bakeries vehicle that overturned while trying to avoid a head-on collision. The crash claimed two lives, including Banda’s.
Just days after Banda’s passing, FC Platinum winger Oscar Bhebhe was involved in another road accident. Bhebhe sustained a broken arm and is currently recovering.
