A 46-year-old man from St Mary’s, Chitungwiza, has been remanded in custody after appearing at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on allegations of cyber-bullying and harassment.
Elisha Ruhinga, of Chitungwiza, who allegedly operates Facebook and TikTok accounts under the name “Bigboss Isaiah”, is facing charges of cyber-bullying and harassment involving Johane Masowe eChishanu church leader, Madzibaba Moses Gwasira.
According to the State, the matter arose on December 8, 2025, when Madzibaba Gwasira was alerted by members of his congregation to videos circulating on Facebook and TikTok that were allegedly damaging to his character.
Ruhinga is accused of publishing content alleging that Madzibaba Gwasira stole State funds, exploited church members by charging fees for prayers, and misappropriated church donations.
Court papers further allege that Ruhinga accused the church leader of pouring acid on a woman identified as Mai Adha Chireka.
The State, represented by prosecutor Dzidzai Josaya, opposed bail, arguing that the online attacks caused substantial emotional distress to the complainant.
