Chivayo donates US$2m and 20 Land Cruisers to security services
Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has announced US$2 million and 20 Toyota Land Cruisers in Unity Day donations to welfare-focused cheer funds within Zimbabwe’s security services.
The donation package includes US$1 million for the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander’s Christmas Cheer Fund, US$500,000 for the Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner-General’s Cheer Fund, and US$500,000 for the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service Commissioner-General’s Cheer Fund.
In addition to cash, the donation includes 10 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 VXR vehicles for the ZDF, and five vehicles each for the police and prisons services.
Chivayo said the donation was made “in the spirit of unity and national service".
