It's not just you. People across the world are reporting having issues using Facebook, Instagram and What'sApp.

Users began reporting the outage at around 11 a.m., according to DownDetector.

Facebook has not yet said what has caused the outage, or when it will be resolved.

The hashtags #Instagramdown, #Facebookdown and #WhatsAppdown were trending across the world on Twitter.

The outage comes a day after the identity of the Facebook whistleblower who released tens of thousands of pages of internal research and documents was made public on 60 minutes.

Facebook and Instagram users reported widespread outages Monday, as the social media giant appeared to be again experiencing serious technical problems. The company’s WhatsApp messaging app also was down, per user reports.

The company, in the spotlight over accusations by a whistleblower that the company prioritized profits over safety, saw its flagship Facebook app and Instagram go down for many users on Monday before noon ET.

On Facebook’s website, an error message Monday said, “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can” and the Facebook app was not loading certain content. Instagram’s site showed a “5xx Server Error” and its app displayed an error message that said, “Couldn’t refresh feed.”
According to monitoring service DownDetector, U.S. user reports of problems with Facebook and Instagram started to spike around 11:35 a.m. ET Monday. Outages were also reported by users in other countries, per DownDetector.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp appear to be down on Monday morning amid substantial updates and rising controversy about content curation on the social media websites, according to Downdetector's website.

Outages appear to be active in New York and the U.S. east coast, Kentucky and the Southern U.S., the U.K., Norway, Bulgaria, and more. Error messages on all three services are appearing on iOS applications and throughout the web. Users who venture a visit to these high-traffic websites are met with error messages that say things like "5xx Server Error," "Sorry, something went wrong," and other similar messages of helplessness.

Facebook is down for US, UK, Kuwait, Norway, Brazil, Turkey, and more
Every Facebook-controlled platform is down, according to Downdetector data, in addition to endless Twitter posts expressing the same. The outages began at roughly 11:40 AM EDT, and as of writing all of these services are still completely closed to global traffic. Almost immediately, these outages began trending on Twitter as users posted to see if other users are suffering the same issues.
