SAD💔 | Walter Mzembi reported to be seriously ill in prison
Former foreign minister Walter Mzembi, who is currently jailed, is reported to be in serious ill health. A senior Zimbabwe Prison Service official confirmed that his condition has raised concern among officers.
Mzembi is said to be looking weak, with pale eyes and a darkened appearance, and he spends most of his time sleeping. Prison officers fear that he may be suffering from a serious illness.
He previously battled colon cancer while in exile, where he received treatment, and there are growing worries that the cancer may have returned. However, without proper medical checks, the exact nature of his condition remains unknown.
.Mzembi is being held for violating bail conditions from seven years ago. Both the magistrates’ court and the High Court of Zimbabwe have denied him bail.
