Honda Fit Yokonzeresa Serious Tsaona With Fuel Tanker

BULAWAYO has been thrown into fuel-fuelled chaos today after a diesel tanker carrying 37 000 litres collided with a Honda Fit vehicle at Umguza River along the Bulawayo-Harare Road, forcing authorities to shut down the busy highway.

 

 

 

The accident, which happened in the early hours, sparked a frantic emergency response as rescue teams scrambled to decant the fuel and prevent a potential inferno.Motorists were left fuming in endless queues with traffic piling up from both directions.

 

 

 

 

“The road is completely closed while we recover the fuel. We’re urging drivers to use alternative routes,” said one emergency official at the scene.

“I was detained there for more than an hour. Had to pass via the squatter camp in Killarney,” said a motorist

 

 

 

 

” FYI, those travelling from Harare to Bulawayo there is an accident after Cement siding involving honda fit and fuel tanker which is now leaking ..all vehicular movement is currently stopped from both sides as fire brigade is trying to manage situation. So expect delays if using that road. We have been stuck for more than 2 hours…” said another motorist.
