Thokozani Khupe has said she regrets ever working with Douglas Mwonzora in the opposition MDC-T after the party’s Supreme Court-sanctioned congress which Mwonzora won turned violent on Sunday.
Khupe accuses Mwonzora of being the instigator of the chaos and also of manipulating the electoral process in his favour. The former deputy to the late party’s founding leader, Morgan Tsvangirai has been working with Mwonzora since March this year when the Supreme Court ordered the party to hold an Extraordinary Congress to elect the substantive successor to Tsvangirai.
The Supreme Court, like the High Court, had ruled that Nelson Chamisa who leads the rival MDC Alliance was not the legitimate leader of the party after he reportedly attained the presidency unconstitutionally following Tsvangirai’s death in 2018. Khupe told the media Sunday that she had suspended Mwonzora from the MDC-T adding that she regretted ever working with him She said:
I do have regrets now because I thought he was an honest person, I thought he was a genuine person, I thought he was somebody whom we were going to be working together and moving together in this journey of making sure that we deliver a better life to every Zimbabwean.
Little did I know that he was going to be somebody who would be doing things in a fraudulent manner. I don’t expect that from a person of his calibre…It’s a sad reality. Khupe and Morgen Komichi left the Harare International Conference Centre auditorium prematurely following the chaos that rocked the elective congress.

U.S.–Iran Tensions Rise After Major Naval Incident in Strait of Hormuz
Global tensions are increasing after a reported naval confrontation involving the United States and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. The incident has sparked fears of rising fuel prices, global economic instability, and potential military escalation in the Middle East. Governments around the world are closely monitoring the situation as international markets react to the growing uncertainty.
The Strait of Hormuz is responsible for transporting a large percentage of the world’s oil supply, making any disruption in the region a serious concern for energy markets. Financial analysts say prolonged tensions could lead to higher gasoline prices across the United States and increased transportation costs globally. Americans are closely following the developing story as searches related to “oil prices,” “Iran conflict,” and “Middle East tensions” continue trending online.
Military officials have stated that additional security measures are being considered to protect commercial shipping routes and maintain regional stability. Political leaders from several countries are also calling for diplomatic negotiations to avoid further escalation. Experts warn that continued instability could impact stock markets, global trade, and inflation if tensions continue over the coming weeks.
Spinal Cord Injury Lawyer: Compensation After A Life-Changing Injury
A spinal cord injury can change every part of a person’s life. Victims may face paralysis, chronic pain, limited mobility, surgery, rehabilitation, and major lifestyle changes. A spinal cord injury lawyer helps victims pursue compensation.
These injuries may result from car accidents, truck crashes, falls, workplace accidents, medical errors, or violence.
The cost of care can be extremely high. Victims may need wheelchairs, home modifications, personal care assistance, therapy, medication, and future surgeries.
A lawyer can calculate both current and future damages. This is important because spinal injuries often require lifelong care.
Compensation may include medical bills, lost income, future care, pain and suffering, disability, and loss of independence.
Strong legal claims require medical records, expert testimony, accident evidence, and proof of negligence.
A spinal cord injury is serious. Victims should not accept quick settlements without understanding long-term costs.
