Ku Waterfalls Kwashata Ma Armed Robbers Samuel Habimana Ouraiwa Pamba Pake Zvakaoma

manhunt has been launched for suspects who allegedly shot and killed Rwandese national Samuel Habimana in Waterfalls, Harare on Friday last week.

Habimana was allegedly shot in the neck at his Mainway Meadows home in Waterfalls under unclear circumstances after a four-member gang forced its way into the premises.

ZRP national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told ZBC News that investigations are underway.

“As the Zimbabwe Republic Police we are investigating the shooting incident which took place in Waterfalls, Harare in view to find the motive behind the shooting. We believe that the suspects tracked him from Harare’s Central Business District to his home in Waterfalls. We want to assure the public that comprehensive investigations are currently underway and no stone will be left unturned,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi also warned the public against publishing information which has not been verified.

He added, “I want to warn the public against publishing false information on social media. We are urging the public that if they have any information they want the public to know they are free to come to our offices rather than publishing such without verification.”

Preliminary investigations indicate that Habimana and his wife got home around 9pm on Friday and asked their maid to pick some groceries from the car.

It is alleged the maid returned in a state of panic claiming that she had seen four mysterious men at the perimeter wall.

Habimana was later shot dead after the gang allegedly broke into the house and demanded cash, keys for their grocery shop and a CCTV video recorder before fleeing.

Mortgage Refinancing Strategies for Homeowners Looking to Reduce Monthly Payments

Mortgage refinancing has become a popular financial strategy for homeowners seeking lower monthly payments and long-term savings. Refinancing involves replacing an existing mortgage with a new loan that offers improved terms, lower interest rates, or adjusted repayment schedules. Homeowners often refinance to reduce borrowing costs, access home equity, or switch from adjustable-rate loans to fixed-rate mortgages.

Interest rates play a major role in refinancing decisions. Even a small reduction in mortgage interest can save homeowners thousands of dollars over the life of a loan. Many borrowers also use refinancing to consolidate debt or fund home renovations that increase property value. Financial institutions evaluate factors such as credit scores, income stability, and property equity when determining refinancing eligibility.

One of the most important aspects of refinancing is comparing lenders carefully. Homeowners should review closing costs, loan terms, repayment periods, and hidden fees before signing new agreements. Online mortgage calculators and financial planning tools can help estimate monthly savings and overall loan affordability.

Refinancing may not be the right option for everyone, especially if closing costs outweigh long-term savings. Financial advisors encourage borrowers to calculate break-even points and evaluate long-term financial goals before refinancing a mortgage. Responsible borrowing and careful planning can help homeowners improve financial stability while reducing debt burdens.
