Daughter Sentenced to Life for Father's Murd3r
In a shocking case, Mologadi Magdeline Mehlape (28) has been convictedand sentenced to life imprisonment for orchestrating her father Dr. Malekutu Johannes Mehlape's brutal murder. The Circuit Manager at the Limpopo Department of Education was killed at his Mankweng home on December 28, 2023.
Mehlape pleaded guilty to murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. The court heard that she hired a contract kill3r for R200,000 after a traditional healer falsely accused her father of her mother's death through 'muthi.'

Four others, including a traditional healer, face charges related to the murder and are set to appear in court on June 20, 2025. The NPA welcomes the conviction, affirming the justice system's commitment to holding perpetrators accountable.
