DStv raDirwa TsvigiriMultiChoice Group has brought relief to millions of DStv subscribers after confirming that it has successfully concluded a new long-term distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, ensuring that key channels such as CNN International, Discovery Channel, TLC, Cartoon Network and Food Network will remain on the platform beyond 31 December 2025.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of previous tensions between MultiChoice and international broadcasters, most notably CNN. In recent years, DStv publicly warned that it could be forced to drop CNN International from its bouquet due to rising carriage fees and cost pressures, sparking concern among viewers who rely on the channel for international news. The standoff highlighted the broader challenges facing pay-TV operators in Africa as global content providers demand higher fees while subscribers push back against rising subscription costs. The new agreement puts those fears to rest, at least for now, guaranteeing continued access to a wide range of news, lifestyle, children’s programming, documentaries, movies and general entertainment from the Warner Bros. Discovery stable
