Ngochani 4ED: Popular Male Skit Maker Ignites Storm After Forming LGBT Affiliate to Back President Mnangagwa

A popular Zimbabwean male skit maker has sent social media into overdrive after announcing the launch of Ngochani 4ED, a newly formed LGBT-focused affiliate aimed at mobilising support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The announcement, made through a mix of viral skits and bold social media posts, has triggered a nationwide conversation across Zimbabwe, touching on politics, identity, and the growing influence of online personalities. According to the skit maker, Ngochani 4ED is intended to encourage civic participation and ensure that all Zimbabweans, regardless of identity, feel represented in national discussions.

In a widely shared clip, the entertainer argued that political engagement and personal identity are not mutually exclusive, stating that the affiliate’s goal is dialogue, visibility, and participation rather than provocation. The message, however, has divided opinion sharply.

Supporters have applauded the move as bold and unprecedented, calling it a sign of changing times and increased openness in political engagement. Critics, on the other hand, accuse the influencer of courting controversy or using politics for attention, with heated debates unfolding across comment sections and WhatsApp groups.

As influencers continue to shape public opinion, Ngochani 4ED has become a flashpoint in Zimbabwe’s digital space—proof that politics, pop culture, and social identity are now deeply intertwined. Whether this initiative evolves into a sustained movement or remains a viral moment, it has already succeeded in one thing: forcing a conversation many were avoiding.
