Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Anymore Zvitsva (32) Guruve The longest manhunt in history of Zimbabwe

Police have confirmed the arrest of Anymore Zvitsva (32) in Guruve on Saturday, bringing to an end a weeks-long manhunt linked to multiple serious crimes.

 

 

 

In a statement the Zimbabwe Republic Police said Zvitsva, who is suspected of murder, attempted murder and rpe, was arrested following a joint operation involving police and the Zimbabwe National Army.

The suspect was shot in the left leg during the arrest while hiding in a garden and is receiving medical attention at a local hospital.

 

 

 

Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the operation marked the conclusion of an intensive security effort involving both authorities and the local community.

 

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of the suspect following a comprehensive manhunt,” Nyathi said.

 

 

 

“We commend the Guruve community and all Zimbabweans for the cooperation and support rendered during this operation.”

 

Nyathi said further details regarding formal charges and court appearance would be released in due course.
