Prophet T Freddy Accused Of Kubata Chibharo Radio Zimbabwe Presenter

It never rains but pours for Prophet T Freddy who is now under investigation for rape allegations.

This comes after a 33-year-old ZBC Radio Zimbabwe presenter Rutendo Makuti Mubweza filed a rape complaint claiming the self-proclaimed man of God sexually assaulted her.

Rutendo claims that the Goodness and Mercy Ministries preacher forced himself on her on several occasions after her husband died in 2019.

According to the police memo, Rutendo told the police that sometime in November 2019, she sought spiritual assistance from Prophet T Freddy after her now-deceased husband fell ill.

She revealed that Prophet T Freddy gave her money to take her husband to the hospital after his health did not improve from prayers. Unfortunately, her husband passed away shortly after getting admitted to the hospital.

“The accused person (Freddy) invited the complainant to his workplace and gave her US$2,500 to ferry her husband to Karanda Hospital for medical attention. However, barely a week later, the complainant’s husband died in hospital and the accused person offered assistance towards the burial,” the police memo reads.

However, a couple of months after her husband’s death, Prophet T Freddy is alleged to have proposed love to Rutendo, but she declined as she was still mourning her husband.

After she turned down the love proposals, Rutendo said he asked to visit her son in the rural areas, which she agreed
He returned to Harare with her son and arrived at her Mt Pleasant Heights home in the evening.

Prophet T Freddy is alleged to have asked to stay the night on the basis that it was now late.

ZimLive reports that on the said night, Freddy slept on Rutendo’s bed while she sat on a chair before he raped her moments later without using protection.

The self-styled preacher is alleged to have repeated the visits to the victim’s residence and raped her each time.

Meanwhile, Prophet T Freddy has since denied the rape claims. In his defence, he claims that Rutendo is trying to extort him.

Rutendo has since been referred to Parirenyatwa Hospital for a medical examination, while Prophet T Freddy is expected to be picked up for questioning sometime this week.
