Ruwa, Zimbabwe - A Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer has been implicated in the alleged assault and death of a 30-year-old man.
According to reports, Constable Prince Ndavambi, stationed at Ruwa Police Station, allegedly assaulted and demanded a bribe from Blessed Believe Juruvenge and his sister, Melisa Manyepa, on May 27, 2025. Despite Juruvenge's deteriorating condition, Constable Ndavambi continued to assault him and failed to provide prompt medical attention, leading to his death at Ruwa Rehabilitation Centre.
The police have launched an investigation, and a postmortem has been conducted. However, the family disputes the initial postmortem results, and a second postmortem is scheduled.
The family has expressed outrage and devastation, vowing to seek justice and uncover the truth surrounding Juruvenge's death. The community demands accountability and justice for Juruvenge's family.
