Social Media Speculates On Kembo Mohadi’s Possible Replacement
Following news that Vice President Kembo Mohadi has resigned, Social media users especially Twimbos have started to speculate on who will be his replacement as the country’s second Vice President.
a). In a WhatsApp Group Pindula is in, group members are saying President Mnangagwa might choose Sithembiso Nyoni the current Minister of Women and Youth Affairs:
If ED plays the gender card Sithembiso Nyoni could be in
b). Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri
c) Thokozani Khupe
Human Rights Activist Dewa Mavhunga said: Those touted to replace disgraced Vice President Mohadi who resigned over a sex scandal are ZANUPF chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri & outsider Dr Thokozani Khupe. Thoughts?
d) Jacob MudendaAccording to Hopewell Chin’ono: Another name being talked about is speaker of parliament Jacob Mudenda. However Mudenda defected to Zanu from ZAPU before the 1987 Unity Accord had been signed. So if Mnangagwa has to respect the 1987 Unity Accord signed between ZANU and ZAPU, Mudenda would be out of contention
e) Philip Valerio Sibanda
Hopewell Chin’ono: The dark horse to replace Mohadi is General Valerio Sibanda who was a commander in ZIPRA, the ZAPU military wing during the war. This might be an opportunity to bring him into politics. General Sibanda is the current commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and had clout
f) Simon Khaya Moyo
According to Bhurumango MBE: If we are following the Unity Accord in the appointment of Kembo Mohadi‘s replacement then SK Moyo may be the next Vice President.
g) Obert Mpofu
A Makuyana: Vice President Kembo Mohadi has resigned. Meet your likely new Incoming VP Obert Mpofu ! Zvinhu zveZanupf hapana chokufarira nokuti hapana chako neni. Like I said before: these are Zanupf fights, it doesn’t change anything.
2018 Presidential candidate Egypt Dzinemunhezva took a jab at Mpofu and said he will sell the country and deny ever seing Zimbabwe and said: If Obert Mpofu becomes VP taparara, inobiwa ikatengeswa Zimbabwe iyi. And the man will deny seeing Zimbabwe ever in his life
