Zimbabwean traditional healer Stella Sibanda, who has been charged alongside three others in the murder of Timothy Segola, has been remanded in custody by Broadhurst Magistrates Court.
Sibanda was denied bail by Chief Magistrate Gofaone Morweng today, who said the accused application was devoid of merit.
The 50-year-old Sibanda is being accused alongside the deceased's wife Malebogo Segola (45), Alfred Gaseitsewe (42), and Maxwell Chirinda (22) of killing Segola on June 5 around Rahutse lands near Gakuto.TRADITIONAL HEALER, THREE OTHERS IN COURT FOR MURDER
A chilling murder case unfolded at the Broadhurst Magistrate Court on Thursday as four people, including a traditional healer, were hauled before court for allegedly killing a 58-year-old man in Gakutlo last month.
In a case that has shocked the quiet Rahutshe lands near Gakutlo, Stella Sibanda, a 50-year-old Zimbabwean woman said to be a traditional healer, appeared alongside Malebogo Segola (45), Alfred Gaseitsiwe (42) and Maxwell Lucky Chirinda (22), all facing a single count of murder.
The quartet is accused of acting together to brutally murder Timothy Segola, a Motswana man, on or around the 5th of June 2025. Details from the charge sheet suggest the group operated with a shared purpose when they allegedly committed the heinous act.
Segola’s lifeless body was discovered at Rahutshe lands under suspicious circumstances, sparking a swift investigation that led to the arrest of the four suspects.
The motive behind the murder is still unclear, but investigators are said to be looking into possible connections between the deceased and the accused.
The suspects have all been remanded in custody and are expected to return to court on the 12th of August 2025 for further mention.
Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Near Bagali, confirmed the developments and urged members of the public with information related to the case to come forward.
“Investigations are ongoing, and we appeal for cooperation from the public,” Bagali said.
As the community reels in shock, many are calling for justice to be served in what is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about murder cases in recent months.
