WANTED | Police in Nkayi are looking for a man named Sicelinkosi Masuku from Ezinyangeni, Nkayi, who is wanted in connection with the murd€r of Princess Janet Magonya Dakamela.
The murd€r occured on Wednesday night at Nkayi Centre. Police say Dakamela was attacked and kill€d at a local guest house where she was working. After the attack, the suspect fled from the scene.
Early investigations show that Dakamela had recently returned to Zimbabwe from South Africa, where she had lived and worked for some time. While in South Africa, she reportedly met Masuku, and the two started a romantic relationship. It was later discovered that Masuku was married and living with another wife.
Police say Dakamela decided to end the relationship after learning this and moved back to Zimbabwe. However, Masuku is believed to have followed her from South Africa last week. Investigators suspect that he began stalking her after failing to accept the breakup.
Before her death, Dakamela reportedly received several thr€at€ning messages, believed to be from Masuku. Some of the messages suggested that he intended to h@rm her if she refused to continue the relationship. In one message, he allegedly wrote, “If I don’t have you, no one will have you.”
Police believe Masuku is still in Zimbabwe and may be trying to escape back to South Africa.
