Three children died while another sustained injuries following a suspected electrical fault in Rutendo high density suburb, Redcliff, Friday evening, plunging the community into mourning.
Redcliff Municipality spokesperson Mr Michael Magoronga confirmed the tragic incident attributing the fault to alleged illegal wiring at the property.
He said the minors, one aged nine and twins aged six, were reportedly left in the house while their mother attended a church service when disaster struck.
To add intrigue to the horrific incident, the children's late father is reported to have died under similar circumstances at his workplace some three years ago.
