Two children have sadly lost their lives in Msintsi Location, East London, after allegedly consuming chips bought from a local spaza shop. A further five children have been rushed to hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident to determine whether the food was contaminated. Families and community members are devastated, as parents fear for the safety of their children.

This is a heartbreaking reminder of how important food safety, accountability, and proper regulation are — especially when it comes to products sold to children.

We extend our deepest condolences to the affected families ?

No child should lose their life over food.
