Video: vobatwa vachitiza ne -chitunha maskati machenafootage shows Mnangagwa supporters wearing white campaign T-shirts bearing the President’s face as they drove away with Makwara’s coffin in a grey pickup truck, while Chamisa’s supporters, clad in yellow Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) regalia, clung onto the back of the vehicle, shouting in protest.
In the video, one male CCC supporter yells at the perpetrators:
“You are running around doing this because of Nelson, who frightens you all!”
The coffin-snatching group was reportedly led by Sam Buleya and included Abigail Kavhimba, Portia Muzengeza, Mai Mabvindi, Mai
Kudangiramwa, Mai Jonga, Mr Tserebede, Mr Reza, Mose Phiri, Mr Mashore, Mai Mutsa, Mai Abu, and Mai Mukoba.Chaos erupted in Glendale on Sunday after supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa were caught on video stealing the corpse of Nelson Chamisa’s opposition councillor, Clarkson Makwara, the former Ward 17 councillor (2013–2018).
