We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bishop Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bishop Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha, on 17 March 2026 —(1946–2026) 80 years.

Bishop Ak Mwazha was the beloved second born son of the late Archbishop Paul Mwazha of Africa, who passed away last year on 20 November 2025 at the age of 107.

Born in June 1946 at Howard Institute (Chiweshe), Alfred grew up alongside his brother Ngoni Edward Mwazha and their sister Rudo Nelly.

Ak Mwazha was a fervent believer, eloquent in the gospel, and well-versed in scriptures. He was a charismatic leader and, as the heir apparent to the church's throne, his leadership was highly regarded. As stated in a letter written by Rev. Kasima, quoting Mudzidzisi, "Alfred Kushamisa is your leader when you are gathered for church camps" (28 Feb 2020). His favorite hymn was hymn 129, a song that reflected his faith and devotion.Nguva yakanakisa yekukurumbidza.

May God comfort the Mwazha family and the entire African Apostolic Church at this difficult time. We pray for strength, peace, and solace for all who loved and respected him.

Rest in eternal peace, Bishop Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha.
