The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that Zimbabwean musician Malloti is being sought in connection with an armed robbery case dating back to 2017.

According to authorities, a warrant of arrest was issued by the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in the Western Cape after she allegedly failed to appear in relation to the matter.

Police say she is believed to be in Zimbabwe.

Western Cape SAPS spokesperson Captain F.C. Van Wyk confirmed that the suspect is wanted on a charge of robbery with a firearm following the issuing of the warrant.

The case, linked to an incident in Rondebosch and registered under CAS 78/11/2017, has been provisionally removed from the court roll pending her arrest.

The docket has reportedly been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions as extradition processes are set to be pursued to secure her return to South Africa to face the charge.

Authorities say the matter remains under investigation.
