The Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCZ) has issued a strong statement calling on law enforcement agencies to launch a full and transparent investigation into the growing allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation against Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries. The coalition, which represents dozens of women’s rights organizations nationwide, said the matter cannot be ignored and urged the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and other state bodies to act swiftly in protecting the victims and ensuring justice is served.
WCZ emphasized that no one should be above the law, regardless of status or religious influence. The group expressed deep concern over reports that some women may have been intimidated into silence and called for safe channels for survivors to report their experiences. They also urged the Zimbabwe Gender Commission and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to closely monitor the case and support affected women. As public pressure mounts, WCZ insists that this moment must mark a turning point in how Zimbabwe handles gender-based violence — especially when powerful figures are involved.
