Zimbabwean couple was assaulted by a mob on Sunday following a road accident involving a deliveryman’s motorcycle in Greater Noida.
The couple, identified only by their first names, Michael and Amma, who live in a rented accommodation in Sector Xu, Greater Noida, filed a complaint at the Beta-2 police station after the attack and vandalism of their car.
Police confirmed the incident and registered a First Information Report (FIR).
According to Viddhyut Goyal, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Beta-2 police station, the confrontation began when Michael, who was driving in the wrong lane, accidentally collided with the motorcycle of 25-year-old deliveryman Aryan.
A heated argument ensued between Michael and Aryan, a local resident of Beta 2, which quickly escalated when other deliverymen and bystanders joined in.
The mob allegedly assaulted Michael and smashed the windshield and windows of his car.
The altercation attracted police intervention after someone from the crowd alerted authorities via the emergency helpline, 112.
Officers arrived at the scene and safely rescued the couple.
Despite the attack, neither Michael nor Amma sustained injuries, an unnamed police officer reported.
Videos of the incident have since circulated on social media, showing the vandalized car surrounded by a large crowd near Ithums Galleria Mall in Alpha 2, Greater Noida.
The authenticity of these videos has not yet been independently verified.
Authorities have registered a case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges for causing harm, criminal intimidation, property destruction, and rash driving.
Aryan, the deliveryman involved in the accident, has been detained, while investigations continue.
Statements from the Zimbabwean couple are yet to be formally recorded.

Mortgage Refinancing Strategies for Homeowners Looking to Reduce Monthly Payments
Mortgage refinancing has become a popular financial strategy for homeowners seeking lower monthly payments and long-term savings. Refinancing involves replacing an existing mortgage with a new loan that offers improved terms, lower interest rates, or adjusted repayment schedules. Homeowners often refinance to reduce borrowing costs, access home equity, or switch from adjustable-rate loans to fixed-rate mortgages.

Interest rates play a major role in refinancing decisions. Even a small reduction in mortgage interest can save homeowners thousands of dollars over the life of a loan. Many borrowers also use refinancing to consolidate debt or fund home renovations that increase property value. Financial institutions evaluate factors such as credit scores, income stability, and property equity when determining refinancing eligibility.

One of the most important aspects of refinancing is comparing lenders carefully. Homeowners should review closing costs, loan terms, repayment periods, and hidden fees before signing new agreements. Online mortgage calculators and financial planning tools can help estimate monthly savings and overall loan affordability.

Refinancing may not be the right option for everyone, especially if closing costs outweigh long-term savings. Financial advisors encourage borrowers to calculate break-even points and evaluate long-term financial goals before refinancing a mortgage. Responsible borrowing and careful planning can help homeowners improve financial stability while reducing debt burdens.
