Zimbabwean Investigative Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono Detained By Mnangagwa Government

Media statement on the arrest of Zimbabwe journalist Hopewell Chin’ono Good Governance Africa denounces in the strongest possible terms the reported arrest of Zimbabwean journalist Hopewell Chin’ono ahead of mass demonstrations against corruption planned for 31 July 2020. News reports indicate that Chin’ono was taken into custody by Zimbabwean police this morning. His attorney, Beatrice Mtetwa, has described the arrest as an abduction by eight state security officials. Mashura 16 Year Old Kunyangira Sister Mumagumbeze

AN 11-YEAR-OLD teenager got shocked when she woke up to find her 16-year-old stepbrother in her blankets naked making sexual moves on her. A family member who spoke to B-Metro on condition of anonymity said the girl was asleep alone in her bedroom when her stepbrother tip-toed into her bedroom at around 1am last Friday. The relative said: "She was awoken by a heavy weight of her naked brother who was caressing her while making sexual moves on her. Zimbabwe High Court News Rule Women Get 50 Percent Share Upon Divorce

Supreme Court Issues Landmark Ruling On property Sharing At Divorce. THE Supreme Court has ruled that a woman who did not make any direct contributions to the acquisition of can be awarded a 50 percent share upon divorce. Justices Ben Hlatshwayo, Chinembiri Bhunu and Tendai Uchena made the ruling in the case of Govati Mhora versus Emmaculata Mhora divorce matter in which the former was challenging the decision by the High Court to award the respondent a 50 percent share of their Harare matrimonial home on grounds that she had never made any direct contribution to the acquisition of the property. Police To Arrest Shurugwi Beating Up Female Farm Workers

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said that it is seeking a man who is beating up female farm workers in a video that has gone viral on social media. In a statement on its official Twitter page, police appealed to members of the public with information that can lead to the man’s arrest to come forward. The statement reads: The ZRP has observed a video circulating on the social media where a man is seen assaulting several women using what appears to be a hosepipe after forcing them to eat pepper. We are therefore appealing for information which may lead to the identification of victims and the assailant thereto. Magaya In Housing & Stands Investigation

HUNDREDS of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries followers recently besieged their leader Prophet Walter Magaya’s  offices in Cape Town, South Africa, demanding refunds following a botched stands deal.  The followers said they wanted their money back since nothing had materialised three years after paying deposits. Through Planet Africa, the investment arm of Prophet Magaya’s church, the followers were asked to pay varying deposits into a housing scheme. Two Binga Police Officers Arrested For Stealing Cattle

Two police officers have been arrested for stealing cattle in Binga. The two cops are implicated together with a civilian for stealing three herds of cattle in Siabuwa village. Chaosafrica learned from New Zimbabwe, that the two police officers connived together with Edward Muzamba age 40 of Siamankulu Village Naganga area, Siabuwa. Muzamba was not asked to plead to a count of stock theft when he appeared before Binga magistrate Urgent Vundla. Chinese Mine Boss Who Shot Employee Freed On ZW$10000 Bail

A CHINESE national Zhang Xuelin (41) who is accused of shooting his employees over a salary dispute at Reden Mine located in Shamrock Gweru recently,  has been granted a 10 000ZWL bail by a High Court Judge in Masvingo. In granting Xuelin bail today (Tuesday) Justice Garainesu Mawadze ordered Xuelin to reside at his known address number 1 Maple Road, Windsor Park in Gweru and to report at ZRP Gweru every Friday until the case is finalised. Xuelin was also ordered not to interfere with state witnesses. Justice Mawadze ordered the accused to surrender his passport and temporary resident permit with the Clerk of Court in Gweru. Zimbabwe Man Shot By Chinese Miner Over Salary Is Now Disabled

The health of a Zimbabwe man who was shot 5 times by his Chinese boss for demanding his salary has taken a turn for the worse, as he is now reported to be disabled. 39-year-old Kenneth Tachiona was shot 5 times and seriously injured by his Chinese employer after a heated argument over salaries. Tachiona who has been working at a gold mine in Gweru as a general hand since 2015, was shot in the legs by Zhang Xuelin, a 41-year-old Chinese national. Tachiona was one of the many workers who had confronted Zhang after he reneged on an earlier agreement to pay his workers in United States Dollars.
