CONTROVERSIAL preacher Talent Chiwenga appeared before a Mutare magistrate on Tuesday facing charges of smuggling radio and teargas equipment. The Harare-based clergyman allegedly smuggled five Kenwood two-way communication radios, solar battery chargers and teargas injectors through the Forbes Border Post. Chiwenga appeared before Mr Nottbulgar Muchineripi, who granted him $400 bail and remanded him to March 31.He was charged with contravening a section of the Customs and Excise Act. Chiwenga was represented by Advocate Tariro Paul Machiridza, while the State was represented by prosecutor Perseverance Musukuto. Ginimbi was back in court yesterday and appeared before regional magistrate Hosea Mujaya. Representing the State, Admire Kumire and Lovett Masuku told the court that the State was waiting for Ginimbi’s lawyers to file their application for exception as highlighted on the previous hearing. Sanisa has approached the High Court seeking to end the unregistered customary law union accusing the business tycoon of verbal, emotional and physical abuse.Through her lawyers, Mtetwa and Nyambirai, Sanisa argues that the pair’s relationship which they entered into in 1993 and agreeing not to marry has ceased. AN organised criminal gang that scammed businesses and charities out of £750,000 through a UK-wide cheque fraud network has been sentenced for a combined total of over 24 years in prison at Inner London Crown Court. In a startling development, a suspected coronavirus patient is reported to have escaped from the Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital in Harare, Zimbabwe. The disturbing news was confirmed by Zimpapers owned Star FM radio on social media. According to Star FM, the suspected coronavirus patient who is from Thailand had been quarantined at the infectious diseases hospital so that the medical authorities could test him for the deadly virus.
