"It's done already. The papers for Grace Mugabe's farm takeover are on Minister Perrance Shiri's desk awaiting just his signature." FORMER First Lady Grace Mugabe is next in the line of former allies and relatives of the late former President Robert Mugabe who are losing their farms to the Government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Government last month began repossessing land grabbed by former president Robert Mugabe’s allies during the reform programme amid claims the exercise is politically motivated. Mugabe, who spearheaded the often violent take over of commercial farms owned by Zimbabwe’s minority white population for redistribution to landless blacks, was toppled in a coup in 2017 by his loyalists. He died in Singapore in September last year.
Former ZANU PF political commissar and G40 kingpin Saviour Kasukuwere has been caught in the land audit dragnet and is set to lose his Mazowe farm, Zim Morning Post has learnt. His farm manager Shephered Siyanganga received the withdrawal letter Wednesday and signed the acknowledgment of receipt. The minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement Air Chief Marshal Perence Shiri wrote to Kasukuwere on December 17 2019, indicating his ministry’s intention to withdraw and revoke his land offer citing that the development was on basis of downsizing and re-planning purposes. The letter also stated that Kasukuwere’s farm called Concorpia measured 560 000 hectares hence the need to resize. “Notice is hereby given that the Ministry of Lands, Agricult

Rally banned ... MDC leader Nelson Chamisa was expected to deliver a key speech to supporters in Mbare on Wednesday The MDC said police had blocked party leader Nelson Chamisa from making an address to Zimbabweans in Mbare on Wednesday. Chamisa planned to deliver a State of the Nation Address at Mai Musodzi Hall in Mbare, but the MDC says police informed the party that the event could not proceed. The police cited “flimsy excuses that the event cannot proceed because they are busy with the schools that are opening this week, as if the police have anything to do with opening of schools,” deputy party spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka said. He added: “We are noting a disturbing trend where the police are routinely proscribing MDC events and treating the party as a banned
I am challenging those of you who claim that CORRUPTION is affecting Zimbabwe more than SANCTIONS to prove scientifically that corruption affects the country more than sanctions that have: • been imposed on government, its municipalities [that deliver public services to the people], parastatals, banks, industry [that creates jobs] and investors who invest in the country. • blocked loans for redevelopment, reconstruction, capital accumulation and debt cancelation to increase our debt burden; • blocking the development of infrastructure, provision of energy, transport, communication, banking, capital formation and service provision; • blocked international payment processing; • lost the country 101 corresponding international banking relationships to l
‪You will not get Nelson Chamisa into the State House if you continue failing to communicate with the masses and explaining issues to them.‪Don’t rely on ZANUPF’s failures for your success on the ballot box or in the streets.‬ ‪You have to explain to the masses what those ZANUPF failures mean to their daily lives and painful realities. ‪What is $3Billion looted by ZANUPF to the life of a vendor selling cigarettes in the streets. Yesterday the Finance Minister said that 34 tonnes of Gold were smuggled out of the country. You as a political party know that this is being done by ZANUPF political elites and their business surrogates! It is pointless repeating the same figures that Mthuli Ncube have us in his budget statement to the mass
If President Cyril Ramaphosa doesn't fire Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan, he must be removed and his State of the Nation Address will be disrupted, EFF leader Julius Malema vowed over the weekend. However, Parliament's presiding officers said in a statement on Monday that they were not losing any sleep about possible disruptions "as there exists an appropriate mechanism to ensure that no disruption takes place". Malema was addressing a crowd of EFF supporters in the Mamusa municipality on Sunday ahead of the by-election in the coming week. His speech is available online. "I want to tell Cyril Ramaphosa today, that if he can't fire Pravin before the State of the Nation Address, the State of the Nation Address shall be about Pravin,"
