The South African Police Service (SAPS) seized the explosives yesterday, thanks to the alertness of a detector dog handler who noticed suspicious items concealed in red polyester bags on a trailer towed by a Toyota Quantum. The Musina Explosives Unit conducted a thorough investigation and recovered the following items:
- 6 reels of detonating fuses
- 2,505 Superpower explosives
- 90 blasting cartridges
- 100 Carmex connector capped fuses
