A Chinhoyi University Student Tafara Basipo (22) has been banned from Chinhoyi General Hospital after faking malaria symptoms so he could be admitted and receive bananas from his relatives.
"It's true we have blacklisted him. He tricked the junior doctors into admitting him. The nurse got suspicious after he had consumed 23 bananas yesterday during the lunch visit. It turned out he is a known banana addict and has been arrested for stealing bananas on about 6 occasions. He has turned to fake illnesses after he realised most Zimbabweans bring bananas for sick relatives. We have engaged his family to buy him bananas or commit him to a rehab to get rid of his addiction," confirmed Sister in Charge Dee Hukuimwe.
Tafara (Sponge) was violent when The Civilian tried to interview him. He however calmed down after we gave him ten bananas.
