ONCE a constant presence on social media, Thabang Sefala, popularly known as Skomota, seems to have vanished from the public eye, leaving fans concerned about his sudden absence.
Skomota, known for his infectious dance moves and viral social media presence, rose to fame after appearing on a YouTube podcast where he spoke openly about his wealth and generosity — famously claiming to give women R10 000 in "mavuso".
His candid charm quickly captured the attention of the nation, earning him performance opportunities with stars such as Makhadzi and Limpopo Boy, and even bookings overseas.
His rising fame led to a reality show on Moja Love titled Skomota Ngwana Sesi, which gave viewers a look into his personal life from relationship issues to disputes with management and family.
In the reality show, fans got to see Skomota's relationships with his family and girlfriends, and that drew his fans closer to him.
But recently, the 26-year-old from Mafefe in Limpopo, has gone quiet. He hasn't been seen performing, attending gigs, or posting on social media.
Zimbolivenews reached out to one of his team members, Moruti Gucci, who expressed concern over the star's career. "We're also worried. His management doesn't respond to calls from organisers who want to book him. Other times, the booking fees they charge are unreasonable," said Moturi Gucci.
However, Moruti assured fans that Skomota is in good health and still available to work.
"There's nothing wrong with him. People just don't see him as often because he isn't being booked like before," he said.
Zimbolivenews also reached out to his manager Kholofelo Makgata, popularly known as Moruti wa dikota, who also didn't respond.
