Masvingo Woman Pours Hot Cooking Oil On Lover’s Privates After A Misunderstanding

In a rather disturbing development, a man from Victoria Ranch Masvingo is lucky to be alive after his girlfriend poured hot cooking oil on his privates following a misunderstanding.

iHarare has established from a local publication, Masvingo Mirror that, Melody Mashonga (25), poured hot cooking oil on Emmanuel Cheure (35)  privates after he allegedly refused to eat the food she had offered him.

Mashonga was not asked to plead when she appeared before Magistrate Bishard Chineka at Masvingo Magistrates Court.

The State led by Nixon Chamisa told the court that Mashonga invited Cheure to her house in Victoria Ranch at around 3 pm and offered him food which the latter refused allegedly citing that the food was rotten and was producing a pungent smell.

This infuriated Mashonga who went outside and took a pot filled with hot cooking oil and poured it on Cheure.
“The accused then went outside the house, took a pot filled with hot cooking oil and poured it on Cheure who sustained severe burns on the neck, chest, abdomen and private parts,” said Chamisa.

Cheure who was visibly in pain is reported to have run outside the house seeking help and was immediately rushed to Masvingo General Hospital by alert neighbors. A  police report was made leading to Mashonga’s arrest.

When quizzed on why she poured hot cooking oil on Cheure and inflicted grievous bodily harm, Mashonga told the court that she poured hot cooking oil on Cheure because they were having problems in their relationship and she was frustrated by Cheure’s responses.

Mushonga was sentenced to three years in jail. However, the three-year jail sentence was wholly suspended on condition that she does not commit a similar crime.
