Several shops at the corner of Leopold Takawira and Bute Street in Harare CBD were gutted by fire early this morning.
The cause of the blaze is still unknown as we await further updates from the police. Just three months ago, on June 21, another fire destroyed shops along Leopold Takawira Avenue, with owners
losing stock worth an estimated US$50,000 or more. During the chaos, looters also took advantage of the situation and stole from some of the affected shops.
