WOES OF A CAREGIVER

Zimbabwean caregiver clobbered to d3ath by ‘mentally ill’ male patient in UK

A 48-year-old woman, Agnes Ngande, a caregiver from Ngundu, Masvingo, was tragically attacked and k!lled by a male patient she was caring for in the UK.

Ngande was found d3ad in a residence on Markby Road, Winson Green, Birmingham, at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025.

The mother of four, who had been living and working in the UK for two years, was employed by a private caregiving agency. Her sudden and violent d3ath has left her family and the Zimbabwean caregiving community in mourning, as she was known as a devoted mother and respected professional.

Speaking to journalists, her brother Tawanda Ngande said Agnes was clobbered to d3ath by a mentally ill patient under her care in Birmingham.

“Police told us she was struck on the head with a blunt object, and a postmortem confirmed she died of blunt force trauma,” said her brother.

“Agnes’s death is even more heartbreaking because her 9-year-old twin daughters had just arrived from Zimbabwe the week before, and she was excited to reunite with them in her Nottingham home, where her eldest son also lives,” he added.

She was reported missing after she failed to file the mandatory daily work report. When both her family and employer couldn’t reach her, West Midlands Police were alerted and discovered her body in the residence where she had been working on a three-week live-in shift.

A man in his thirties has been arrested and is in custody on suspicion of m8rder. Police say they are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the incident.

May her soul rest in peace 🕊️
