SAD? | At least 18 people have reportedly died after a Toyota Quantum they were travelling in suddenly caught fire and exploded on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened along the Bulawayo–Beitbridge Road, between Chipangali and the Gwanda tollgate, near the Much Binding area outside Bulawayo. It is believed that the kombi may have been carrying explosives when it burst into flames in the middle of the road.
According to the ZRP, the explosion occurred between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Police confirmed that about 18 people died in the tragic incident.
More details are expected to be released as investigations continue.
