Eyewitnesses say the car was speeding when the driver appeared to lose control near the slippery Marondera turn-off. The passengers, who were en route to a religious crusade in Chipinge, died on the spot. Police and emergency services responded swiftly, but nothing could be done to save the victims.
Wicknell, who has been known for gifting luxury vehicles to pastors and religious leaders across Zimbabwe, expressed shock and sorrow over the loss.
