SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Authorities have arrested 28-year-old Tariro and 30-year-old Simba Nyamukapa, a Zimbabwean couple accused of running an illegal car export operation, tricking buyers into paying for vehicles that were never shipped overseas.
According to police reports, the couple promised luxury and second-hand cars to clients in Africa, collecting thousands of dollars upfront. Victims say they received fake shipping documents and tracking numbers, but the cars never arrived.
The scam was uncovered after multiple complaints and a coordinated investigation by Australian Customs and the police cybercrime unit. Authorities have seized vehicles, computers, and cash linked to the operation.
Social media is buzzing, with many warning others to always verify exporters before sending money abroad.
