Villagers in Figtree have been left stunned after a 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping three goats, two of which later died from the ordeal. The suspect, Brighton Mkandla of Cliffton Farm, is accused of repeatedly sneaking into kraals under the cover of darkness to commit the offences. The disturbing acts came to light when villagers noticed their livestock either dead or severely injured. According to reports, on 15 August 2025, Elmon Ndlovu (65) rushed to his goat pen after hearing unusual noises at around 10 PM. Armed with a torch, he allegedly found Mkandla half-dressed and violating one of his goats. When Elmon called out, Mkandla fled into the night.
