Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (Zaoga) has filed an urgent chamber application with the High Court seeking to halt the eviction and demolition of the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (Zegu) in Bindura, following a default judgment that awarded the land to gold miner Mr Charles Chakumba. The High Court recently ruled in favour of Mr Chakumba after Zaoga and its legal representatives failed to attend a pre-trial conference. Justice Joseph Musakwa granted a default order compelling the church to vacate the premises to allow Chakumba to freely conduct his mining operations on claims he was allocated at Barasse Farm in 1994 by the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development. Tragedy in Bulawayo as Couple Dies in Car Crash A tragic accident claimed the lives of a couple from Entumbane suburb in Bulawayo on Saturday evening. Bekithemba Tshuma (35) was driving along Nketa Drive at around 8 PM with his wife, Tsvangirai Lorraine (25), when he reportedly lost control of their white Toyota Corolla and crashed into a tree. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene. Bulawayo police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident. She said preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle may have been speeding at the time of the crash, and further inquiries are ongoing. The bodies were taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for post-mortem
A 31-year-old man lost his white Mercedes Benz C200 after a brief encounter with an unidentified woman at a restaurant located at the corner of Josiah Chinamano Avenue and Mazowe Street in Harare on 17 May 2025. The two had been playing a game of pool when the woman allegedly stole the car keys from the man's jacket. She then quietly exited the restaurant, unlocked the vehicle using the remote, and drove off at high speed in the direction of Mazowe Street. ZRP has launched an investigation into the theft of the motor vehicle.
