President Mnangagwa back home in Zimbabwe after successfully selling the Zimbabwe brand at the TICAD-7 conference in Yokohama, Japan. Foreign Medical Treatments Cost Zimbabwe $400m Annually

Health minister Obadiah Moyo has disclosed that the country is losing about $400 million annually on overseas medical treatments. Moyo made the disclosure in Nyanga, while officially opening the second annual general meeting and conference of Private Hospitals Association of Zimbabwe. “Having our own up to standard facilities will make wonders and no-one will be airlifted out of the country for health treatment and I have shared this with the President,” Moyo said. Former Defence Minister Sydney Sekeramayi Owes $311k Electricity Debt

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has petitioned the High Court seeking to register a deed of settlement signed by former Defence minister Sydney Sekeramayi, who is said to have failed to settle a $311 000 electricity debt. The power utility recently filed a court application seeking an order to have the deed of settlement registered to recover its money.According to the court papers, Sekeramayi owns Ulva Farm, which accumulated the debt that he has allegedly failed to settle. Mnangagwa Targets Afreximbank Arrangemen

President Mnangagwa yesterday negotiated a fresh financial package for Zimbabwe from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) after meeting the bank’s president, Professor Benedict Okey Oramah.  A MAN has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a woman in a village.Wilfred Jacob, 42, of the Street, Great Saling, is alleged to have killed 41-year-old Linda Vilika at the same address on Monday, August 19.The charge comes after the body of 41-year-old Linda Vilika was found at a property in Great Saling on Monday.A post-mortem examination took place on Wednesday. Ginimbi To Apply For Refusal Of Remand

Genius Kadungure’s lawyer Mr Jonathan Samukange yesterday gave notice in court that he will apply for the removal of his client from remand if the prosecution fails to furnish them with State papers and a trial date on their next appearance. This was after the State led by Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa had applied for a postponement of the matter to September 4. Harare magistrate Mrs Rumbidzai Mugwagwa ruled in favour of the State and the matter was deferred to September 4. Kadungure is facing charges of fraud, tax evasion and money laundering.
