Job Wiwa Sikhala Granted $50 000 Bail Judge Blasts Police

HIGH Court judge Erica Ndewere Tuesday granted MDC Alliance vice-chairperson Job Sikhala $50 000 bail. Sikhala is facing charges of inciting public violence. He was arrested last month and has been in remand prison after he was denied bail at the magistrates’ court. In her ruling, the judge attacked the police of using social media in their investigations instead of establishing their own independent probe. She said Sikhala’s conduct was not of a fugitive running from the law, but he was fleeing from unidentified men who were following. Justice Ndewere also blamed the police for using a vague press statement instead of calling Sikhala’s lawyer. She then ordered Sikhala to pay $50 000 with the Harare magistrates’ court’s clerk of court. He was also

Tytan Tactic 68-Year Old British Grandmother Scamed £18,000 By Ghanaian Ben Ten

A lonely British grandmother who was conned out of £18,000 by her Ghanaian toyboy lover and accused of BEATING him has warned other women not to be as naive as she was. The situation is eerily similar to that of socialite Olinda Chapel who accused musician Tytan Skhokho of using her to get UK papers. Tytan also claimed that he was being physically abused by Olinda. The Daily Mail reports that former probation officer Beth Haining fell for Rodney Cudjoe, a Ghanaian musician 30 years her junior. ‘I’ve been a stupid old woman who should know better,’ said 68-year-old Beth, of Redditch in Worcestershire. ‘I used to laugh at women who fall for these good-looking toyboys from abroad and think how gullible they are. Now I’m one of them.’ G

Spokesperson for the Nelson Chamisa led MDC Alliance, Fadzayi Mahere says the fight between her party and the rival MDC-T faction is not about the name but the ruling Zanu PF party which is stalking her party. Her remarks come in the wake of pronouncements by MDC-T national chairman Morgen Komichi that the party would assume the name MDC Alliance in the upcoming by-elections scheduled for December 5 this year. In an interview with a local radio station, Mahere said there was no confusion in the minds of the electorate because of the 2018 election outcome. “This is not a fight about the name MDC, this is a fight about the representatives of a cause that is genuinely against Zanu PF. If it were just about the MDC Alliance is different from the name MDC-T. The two are different e

Kasukuwere Wants To Return To Zanu PF But Zanu PF Says Door Shut On Him

Exiled former Zanu PF political commissar and minister Saviour Kasukuwere is eyeing a return to the party, almost three years after he was expelled following a military coup which collapsed the government of the late president Robert Mugabe. Kasukuwere, now living in South Africa, is still bitter about a leadership change in November 2017 in which the military decisively influenced Zanu PF’s succession politics as Mugabe’s former deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa took over. “I remain a card-carrying member of the party until due process is carried out in line with the party’s constitution. I remain committed to the unity of the party, which is key to sustainable national development,” Kasukuwere wrote on Twitter on Thursday, a day after Zanu PF’s acting sp

A POWER struggle that has been simmering for months between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his ambitious deputy, retired General Constantino Chiwenga, has intensified over the past two weeks, with factions said to belong to them fighting bitterly over control of re-introduced District Coordinating Committees (DCCs). Mnangagwa and the former Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander are fighting for the heart and soul of Zanu-PF and control of the levers of state power. The differences between the two emerged after the November 2017 coup over several issues, such as type of transitional arrangement, key appointments, including cabinet posts and Mnangagwa's tenure. The party resolved to re-introduce the DCCs in its structures last year, claiming they were the missing link in the coord
